In the inaugural mixed teams event featuring top men and women competing over two weeks in Australia representing their respective countries, Team USA dispatched Italy 4-0 in the championship match.
Team USA showed its dominance throughout the event with a 5-0 record, including wins over the Czech Republic, Germany, Great Britain, Poland, and Italy. The Americans compiled an outstanding individual match record of 22-2 at the inaugural competition.
Tiafoe, the world #17, dropped just one set in five matches to start his 2023 campaign with an unblemished 5-0 record. The Hyattsville native earned 260 ATP ranking points for his victories representing Team USA.
Joining Tiafoe and Kudla on the championship-winning Team USA roster were top 10 players Taylor Fritz and Jessica Pegula, Madison Keys, Alycia Parks, and doubles players Desirae Krawczyk and Hunter Reese.
