The JTCC has found a new partner for 2014, Special Olympics Maryland
Junior Tennis Champions Center (JTCC), the world-class tennis training center in College Park, Md., today announced that it will partner in 2014 with the Special Olympics Maryland. JTCC will provide free training facilities to Team Maryland and its championship students will train the athletes who will compete at the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games to be held in Princeton, New Jersey this June.
This is the second year JTCC has partnered with the Special Olympics Maryland. They will train 25-35 Special Olympics athletes who will play for Team Maryland in the state’s first representation at the games. Athletes will represent Montgomery, Howard, Anne Arundel and Baltimore counties.
“We thank JTCC for its partnership and dedication to Maryland’s Special Olympics athletes,” said Tim Shriver, Chairman of the Board for the Special Olympics. “These great athletes get to train with the nation’s best junior players in their quest to represent Maryland in the Special Olympics. Thanks to JTCC, they have a place to train – snow, rain or shine.”
Some of the top junior players in the country will help train the Special Olympics athletes. The training runs every Sunday starting Feb. 9 through March 16 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The 2014 Special Olympics USA Games’ tennis competition will be held in June at the Mercer County Park in New Jersey. Tennis players will compete in singles and doubles in both short court and long court formats.
