University of Virginia sophomore Mitchell Frank (pictured above playing on the hallowed grounds of Wimbledon) was named the ACC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week. During the week of March 11, Frank paced the No. 1 Cavaliers to four impressive road victories including wins against No. 19 Baylor, No. 11 Texas A&M, No. 14 Texas and No. 15 Illinois. In his individual matches, Frank overpowered his opponents and earned a 4-0 mark during the Cavaliers’ spring break trip.
This is the third time this award has been bestowed upon the men’s team this year. Jarmere Jenkins and Frank’s doubles partner Alex Domijan earned the honor earlier in the season.
The Cavaliers are off to a scorching start this season. Besides a convincing championship title run in the ITA National Team Indoors tourney in Seattle, the team has glided through non-conference play without a hitch.
The Cavaliers will look to continue their undefeated season (11-0) as they take on No. 52 and inner state rival Virginia Tech on Thursday, March 28.
Congratulations Mitchell!
