Brian Tsao and Evan Zhu, two JTCC players, squared off against each other in a Boys’ 16 Doubles Quarterfinals marquee match up in the USTA International Spring Championships yesterday.  The results of the contest and other JTCC matches are below:

Boys’ 18 Singles Round of 16

-No. 14 seed Francis Tiafoe (JTCC) upset No. 3 seed Mackenzie McDonald, 7-6(4), 1-6, 7-6(3).
-After taking out JTCC player Thomas Mayronne in the previous round, No. 4 seed Naoki Nakagawa defeated AJ Catanzariti (JTCC), 1-6, 6-4, 6-2.

Boys’ 18 Doubles Quarterfinals

-No. 1 seed Luca Corinteli (JTCC) (pictured above) and Martin Redlicki defeated No. 6 seed Justin Butsch and Lucas Gomez, 7-5, 7-6(6).
-Walker Duncan and John Mee upset No. 4 seed Michael Mmoh and Francis Tiafoe (JTCC), 2-6, 7-6(4), 10-7.
-No. 2 seed Tommy Mylnikov and Noaki Nakagawa defeated Jordi Arconada (JTCC) and Tommy Paul, 6-4, 7-5.

Girls’ 18 Singles Round of 16

-No. 1 seed Christina Makarova defeated Ines Vias (JTCC), 6-0, 6-4.

Girls’ 18 Doubles Quarterfinals

-Jamie Loeb and Maegan Manasse defeated No. 8 seed Usue Arconada and Jessica Cortes, 6-4, 6-3.

Boys’ 16 Doubles Quarterfinals

-No. 6 seed Emil Reinberg and Brian Tsao (JTCC) upset No. 4 seed Robert Levine and Evan Zhu (JTCC), 7-5, 6-2.

Girls’ 16 Singles Quarterfinals

-No. 12 seed Samantha Martinelli defeated No. 2 seed Jada Robinson, 6-4, 6-4.
