USTAF Excellence Team events feature National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) youth chosen to participate based on their elite tennis ability and tireless commitment to excellence on and off the court.
Imani Jean, Nathen Martin, Amari O’Brien, and Antonio Warner competed in the three-day event that featured more than 40 players representing four NJTL chapters nationwide.
The quartet competed in Boys’ and Girls’ singles matches each day, and to fulfill their commitment to local community service helped clean up the beautiful beaches in San Diego.
Warner received the prestigious Sportsmanship Award for displaying outstanding character throughout the tournament during each of his matches.
“Winning the Sportsmanship Award was a great honor because I was representing JTCC positively at a team event, and it just felt amazing,” Warner said.
