JTCC Ladder Rules & Details

Welcome to the 6th ladder season at JTCC! This document contains all the information you need to register courts and join the ladder.

Important dates

Ladder season: August 25, 2025–November 2, 2025

Court booking & availability

Players are responsible for booking their own courts through Club Automation or by contacting the front desk
Reserved Court Times:

—Mornings: 8:00–10:00 am; 10:00 am–12:00 pm

—Afternoons: 4:00–6:00 p,; 6:00–8:00 pm

—Evenings: 8:00–10:00 pm

—Weekends: 8:00–10:00 am; 12:00–2:00 pm; after 5:00 pm, and a few available spots throughout the day. Please confirm availability with the front desk

If you need more court time, feel free to message Marek Slojewski, and I will do my best to help arrange some hours

Match format

Matches are played in a best-of-3-sets format
Each set is first to 6 games, win by 2
Additionally, if a set reaches 6:6, a standard tiebreaker will be played to 7 points, with the winner needing to win by 2 points
Ads will be played at deuce
If a match reaches a third set, it will be decided by a super tiebreak to 10 points (win by 2)
The time limit for each match is 2 hours. If the time runs out before the match is completed, the player who has won more games will be declared the winner
If players split sets and run out of time before completing the third set, the winner is determined by whoever is ahead in the third-set tiebreak. If the tiebreak is tied or hasn’t started, a final decider point will be played to determine the match winner

Scoring system

Win a match: 3 points added to your overall score
Lose a match but win 1 set: 1 point
Lose a match without winning a set: 0 points
Players must report their scores within 24 hours after the match
In the event that two or more players have the same number of points at the end of the session, the following criteria will determine the rankings:

—The player who won the head-to-head match between the tied players will rank higher

—If head-to-head does not apply (e.g., players didn’t play each other), the player with the higher number of sets won will rank higher

—If the number of sets won is the same, the player with the higher number of games won will rank higher (a super tiebreak is considered as 1 game for the winner and 0 games for the loser)

WhatsApp group

To facilitate communication, a WhatsApp group has been created for all participants. Please ensure that you join the group to stay updated on important announcements, scheduling, and results.

Blocked court time:

Players can see courts reserved for the ladder on Club Automation. To reserve those courts, you will need to call the front desk or use a spreadsheet. These courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you use these reserved courts, you do not have to fill out the reimbursement form. The reimbursement form is only needed when players reserve a court that is not scheduled in Club Automation

Blocked court time booking: Players can view and book courts that are already reserved for the ladder in Club Automation. To use these Blocked Court Times, you need to fill out the designated spreadsheet, which lists all available courts and times. You can book these courts directly or through the front desk.

Reimbursement for court booking

Players are responsible for booking courts on their own (not including “Blocked Court Time” for everyone). After booking, you must fill out the JTCC Adult Ladder Court Reimbursement Form to receive reimbursement at the end of the month.

Prizes

1st Place: 50% off a session or drop-in package (including the ladder program); 3 drop-in classes
2nd Place: 2 drop-in classes
3rd Place: 1 drop-in class

Questions and support

Rematch policy: Players can play against each opponent only once per session. Rematches between the same players are not allowed. This ensures fairness and encourages diversity in matchups throughout the session
Time limit rule: If a match reaches the time limit before completion, the winner will be determined based on the total number of games won.

Example:

—Player A wins the first set 6-4
—Player B is leading 4-1 in the second set when time runs out

Outcome:
—Player A: 6 + 1 = 7 games won
—Player B: 4 + 4 = 8 games won

Since Player B has won more total games, they are declared the winner

Retirement rule: If a player cancels a scheduled match less than 24 hours before the agreed time, the opponent has the right to record the match as a 6:0, 6:0 win. This helps ensure fairness and accountability in scheduling.
