Earlier this month, incoming JTCC CEO Martin Blackman sat down with Brett Haber & Jim Courier for an engaging conversation on the Tennis Channel to talk about his new role and the future of our organization.
🎾 From his roots as JTCC’s Director (2004–2008) to overseeing USTA Player Development for more than a decade, Martin has helped shape American tennis at every level.
In this interview, he shares:
✅ Ken Brody and Ray Benton’s vision to combine tennis, education, and mentoring
✅ The importance of JTCC’s alumni community and the mission of giving back
✅ His excitement for JTCC’s capital expansion, featuring six new indoor courts, four outdoor courts & a new main building.

JTCC Alumnus Andrew Fenty secured his first ATP Tour Challenger Title! 🔥
The winningest player in University of Michigan history, Fenty teamed up with fellow American Noah Schachter to claim the Winston Salem Challenger Doubles Title this past weekend.

Four JTCC players had a week to remember at the USTA Foundation Haber Career Week/Amex Cup that took place from Aug 30-Sept 5 🙌
Shristi Selvan, Stefanie Smart-Abbey, Shaun Fernando, and Yared Alfred joined 24 players from NJTL chapters across the country for an unforgettable experience.
Highlights included hitting the courts at the US Open, exploring the Central Park Zoo, watching matches from the Presidential Suite at Arthur Ashe Stadium, and visiting top companies like ABC Studios, H/2 Capital, and Morrison & Cohen.
Thank you to @ustafoundation and JTCC Junior Performance Program Manager Terence Tche for accompanying the players and making it a week of tennis, learning, and service that created memories to last a lifetime. 💙

Yesterday, we proudly unveiled the plaque for the JTCC Keith Robert Larson Scholarship Fund above the entrance to Building One, honoring a legacy of passion, resilience, and community.
Keith was a longtime member of the JTCC community and an enthusiastic supporter of our programs, and although he is no longer able to play tennis, his passion for the game lives on.
Through the support of his father, Bob, and fellow JTCC member Dick Charlton, the JTCC Keith Robert Larson Scholarship Fund was created to empower the next generation of high-performance athletes.
The fund provides need-based scholarships for players committed to excellence on and off the court. Last year, Nico Pedraza was announced as the first recipient of the scholarship fund, receiving up to $10,000 annually until he graduates from high school.
A second recipient will be announced soon.
If you would like to honor Keith’s legacy and invest in the future of high-performance athletes, please click the link in our bio.
✨ From College Park to Arthur Ashe Stadium ✨
24 JTCC players representing our wheelchair, para standing, veterans, and Special Olympics programs took the court at the US Open on Sept 3.
As part of the USTA Net Generation on-court experience, they showcased the fun and energy of tennis in Arthur Ashe Stadium—right before the quarterfinal night session.
We’re proud of our players for bringing the game we love to one of the biggest stages in tennis. 💙💚
