âDown Underâ â literally âunderâ the bright lights of the Australian Open (AO) â JTCC Para Standing athlete Kemit-Amon Lewis showcased his skills on one of the sportâs most iconic stages.
Lewis competed in a Para Standing Tennis (PST) exhibition during the Grand Slamâs All Abilities Day at Margaret Court Arena on January 27. The appearance came on the heels of his participation in the Oceania Para Standing Tennis Championships several days earlierâto him, the gold standard for international PST competition.
âIt is an honor to have been invited to participate in All Abilities Day. I am privileged to be among this group of people who have so many different adaptations to play tennis at a high level,â said Lewis. âThere were four activations at the AO this year which speaks to Tennis Australiaâs commitment to shining a spotlight on PST. I will definitely be back next year.â
